What Members Thought
3 star story with two of the most annoying and selfish characters I've encountered in fiction some time, but it all gets elevated due to Fitzgerald's masterful prose and sharp eye. The Beautiful & Damned is billed as a tragedy, but when one considers the ending (which seems torn out of a Cohen Brother's movie), I'd swear it was a black comedy. At least now. It's not considered one of Fitzgerald's major novels (he only had four), but it probably should be.
