It's been a few years since I read the previous books in this series but it didn't matter as it was easy to catch up on the recurring characters. The book was cleverly structured so that when I read a chapter almost without taking a breath, the next chapter would be calmer and more relaxing. I guessed most of what was going on fairly early on but this didn't spoil it and in fact added to the tension. ...more
