This book reminded me a bit of an Agatha Christie-type mystery. A man awakes in the hospital without any recollection of who he is or any aspect of his life. He knows how to do many things, but doesn’t recall where he lives or how he makes his living. He discovers that his name is William Monk and he is a police detective. This book was touted as a read alike for S.J. Bolton's Sacrifice which it is not, although in both cases we don't know much about the main character's background and the style of writing is much different from Bolton. That being said it is an intriguing sort of mystery where the good guys and the bad are not always what they seem.
