Except for the bits that showed the author does not understand the basics of genetics, this was an interesting saga of life in Greenland and its relationship to Iceland. The mystery part was average at best.

I skipped to the 4th book of the series to read a book set in Greenland. I could really feel the cold and isolation given the setting and the response to the visitors. Learning about some cultural elements of the indigenous was nice. The plot was just too slow for me. The pace could be faster.
