A great first novel, with an interesting steam-punky take on vamps. I really love the story, the writing is precise and good. The Grayfriar is a surprise, and the ending left me scrambling for the next in the series. which is in my hand, ready to keep me up tonight :)

So this book has been on my tbr for a few years. More than likely because I haven't really been into vampire stories like I was back then.

So imagine my surprise by how much I really enjoyed this book. It was well written, full of action, great world building, so many secrets that still need to unfold, and such a great hero and heroine. I absolutely love Gareth!

I was completely entertained and entranced, I am absolutely ready for the next book! ...more
