Four stars for the depth of research in this true crime tome about the disappearance and murder of Lucie Blackman in the summer of 2001. Tough read. Dark, gritty, sad. I listened on audio-it was a free offering from the audible library. I think it could have been significantly shorter and I didn't live how the author/journalist inserted himself into the story so I gave it only 2 stars. I did find the peek into Japanese culture fascinating.

Interesting read - this is the same author of Ghosts of the Tsunami, which I loved.
