Eisler does such a good job narrating his books. He pronounces the Japanese words correctly and sneaks in the meaning for clueless foreigners without interrupting the flow of the narrative. His plots make sense requiring minimal willing suspension of disbelief. One gets a good feel for how Japanese people approach life and the problems of being "not quite" Japanese.

I always enjoy reading work about gaijins in Japan, because it's interesting to me to see how other people view the same experience. Eisler paces this at the perfect speed for a thriller, but man, just once I'd like to see a hero's preferred musical genre be bubblegum pop, just for kicks.
