If I would write novels (something that I tried some years back), I wished I would write them the way he wrote Middlesex and The Marriage Plot. Don't get me wrong, they are not perfect novels. They are just perfect examples of what I look in a novel: good plot, interesting characters, great storytelling and stop mixing prose with poetry.

To be honest, it took me a few pages to connect with Eugenides' writing style, but once I did I wanted to crawl into the story and spend all my time there. I started reading this on the plane, and was glad to have uninterrupted time to devote to reading. The author has carefully crafted his characters, taking time with each one. His research regarding mental illness is to be commended. This would be a great book to make into a movie!
