What Members Thought
I love Barbara Kingsolver's novels. Her writing is always inspiring, character development is the BEST, and so many heartstrings are pulled and sometimes ripped away. BK brings us to the heart of the matter wherever and whatever she is pulling us into. I am giving this 3.5 stars, but since there are no "halves" on GR, I give one of my fave. author's a 4 * rating.

This was incredibly boring for the most part. I felt bludgeoned by all the messages Kingsolver wanted to convey about life and the universe in Tennessee. The protagonist's insecurities were particularly irksome.
