Really more of a 3.5, but I'll round up.

My biggest issue with this book was how every time Evans started to go deep with something, she'd switch topics. There's simply too much potential information for one book here (the Bible itself is long), so it ended up feeling frequently shallow. And no, when I'm in the middle of a book, I'm not going to stop and manually type in the "More info on the blog" link into my phone. But when Evans is on, she is ON. Like A Year of Living Biblically, Rachel Held Evans decided to follow the Bible's "teachings" [some say "commands"] for women as literally as possible. She also drew on the novel, the Red Tent, a completely fictionalized "Bible Story" for her discussion of a women's "time of the month."
