Shelves: classic, western
Steinbeck's an author well worth coming back to as an adult - I feel like I can better appreciate what he does with an economy of words than I did when reading him as a high schooler. This one especially makes a sharp impact for as short as it is - the force of his themes is surprisingly powerful. ...more
