Unfortunately for all of us there are some notable female ascents of Annapurna, so Ed has more opportunities for sexism here than in his K2 book :(.
I fail to understand how climbing virtually the entire mountain ON ANOTHER TEAM'S FIXED ROPES is "the brotherhood of the rope" (when Ed does it) but (women climbers) democratically sharing some lead climbing with Sherpas in accordance with their wishes is cheating??? ...more
