My first T.C. Boyle book--really enjoyed it. Based on historic personages who lived on the isolated, lonely, wind-swept & oft-fog-bound island of San Miguel, off the coast of Santa Barbara, CA. Exquisite writing style--thoroughly enjoyed his character development and descriptions.
