What Members Thought
Mailer's Executioner's Song has been one of the novels that has stuck with me throughout my life and he may have done it again with this book. He notes his Tolstoy influence and certainly I had the feeling of War and Peace or Anna Karenina as I read.
I vacillated between four and five stars and then just succumbed to the fact that he was 24 or 25 when he wrote this book. Just knowing that, makes his awareness of the human condition an amazing feat.
