Heart-Shaped Box started off very strongly, Joe Hill definitely nailed the creepy chilling aspect of the book. I mean I started this early one morning (4 a.m.) and within a few pages I was struck with the heebie jeebies which persisted until I was 100 page in and decided to call it a night and I did go to bed with an eerie feeling and I felt right at home with that feeling since it reminded me of when I read his YA series. Heart-Shaped Box started off on such a strong note that I was disappointe ...more

Very well written, style is quite a bit like his dad, great descriptions of the mundane as well as the unreal. While ghosts/supernatural don't scare me, this book kept my interest throughout, lots of action, twists and turns. ...more

I had no idea until 15 min ago that the author is Stephen King's son...... I am not a huge King fan. I don't particularly like sci-fi or unbelievable stories.

I started this book and finished it in less than 8 hours. The premise of buying a ghost on an ebay knock off website isn't that far fetched if you have ever perused ebay and seen some of the things that are actually sold and bought there.

This book captured me in less than 20 pages. It was fast paced, and kept me intrigued throughout the boo

Jude Coyne is a mega rock star who doesn't have to work anymore. His status as an icon has made him wealthy and still relevant into his fifties. His taste in girlfriends runs to much younger Goth girls who live with him at his farm for a few months. Currently it's Georgia, but before her it was Florida, a depressed girl Who Jude sent home after realizing he couldn't help her anymore.
When Jude buys a haunted suit online to add to his collection of the bizarre, it turns out that Jude was the perso

DNF. Started reading this out of curiosity after learning the author is Stephen King’s son. Was expecting a creepy ghost story, which this is, but hadn’t expected the raunchiness or disturbing, demeaning portrayals of female characters. Not for me.

I've read other books by Joe Hill, and loved them. They're a little dark, but well written and creative. This one didn't quite do it for me though. The premises is awesome... purchase a ghost online and see what happens. However things dragged on way too much. By the time you get to the main story you are ready for the novel to just end. I do like the ending though, that everything was wrapped up and no loose strings.
This is classified as a horror. Few creepy moments, nothing that will keep you

A very good, quick read, just eerie enough to raise my heart rate, not so scary that I have to sleep with the lights on
