What Members Thought
This is an exceptionally difficult book for me to rate. As many others have mentioned, the prose is incredible, and the poetic images evoke a host of emotions in the reader. The subject matter was hard; not that I expected it to be easy, I guess I wasn't prepared for the gut-wrenching war scenes and the devastated psyches of the surviving soldiers.

I finally understood what post-traumatic syndrome for Iraq War soldiers was and I also could understand that war may become impossible in the future, as humans evolve in more and more civilized beings.
