Definitely a good historical romance, this book tells the story of Catherine, daughter of southern gentility in 1799, who finds herself helping an accused murderer escape, and then going with him as he travels to southeast Florida. Although unused to the rough life, Catherine takes to it well and finds herself in many situations that she could never have imagined, or imagined herself liking.
