Mixed race author writes about his Jewish mother - strong interesting and funny character. Her voice is expressed through a series of interviews he incorporates in his own account of their history. I love the mother - 12 kids, ingrained in them to learn learn, and to keep your business to yourself. My niece is reading this as part of her summer reading list and I snatched it away from her.
