I watched the movie some years back, and was captured by the bleak dystopia it presented (I am a sucker for dystopian tales). The graphic novel is much harsher in its depiction of this world, and there are some truly violent and psychologically disturbing scenes here.

Alan Moore is a little too vehement, perhaps, in his protest against what he thinks Britain is rapidly becoming, and things are presented too nicely wrapped up in good-vs-evil. Some parts of the story seem included purely for their
