I think this series has been getting better in recent entries. As with most series, some of the books in the middle of the Agatha Raisin series were not quite as good as earlier ones, in my opinion, but the last few I have read have been up to the author's usual high standard. I enjoy the Agatha Raisin ones, as well as the Hamish McBeth ones. I think M.C. Beaton has a good grasp of characters and place, and does a good job of presenting both to her readers. ...more
