This was super weird, but also lovely.
I didn't like it as a kid, and didn't get too far in. It was too foreign. Phantom Tollbooth was my limit. I still sometimes struggle with fantasy/sci-fi today.
Surprisingly, it seems L'Engle works much better for me as an adult. People seem to get prickly about the Christianity portions, but the story strikes me as more universal than that element, and I think that's proven by its success over the years.
