I really liked this book. It reminded me a lot of "Age of Miracles" that I read last year. However, I think I liked this one better. The book is written in journal format through the voice of a 16 year old girl. In the middle of May an asteroid collides with the moon. Astronomers think everything will ok but it moves the moon closer to the earth and therefore affects the planet weather wise and in other ways as well. This is one of the best books I have read in a long time, and I currently have 14 copies circulating among my high school students. I cannot wait to read the companion book, Dead and Gone, and I am ordering it immediately.
I did not think that I would like a book in which an asteroid hits the moon and causes devastating effects on earth, but I loved it. I especially liked the setting - northeastern Pennsylvania, since I live in central Pennsylvania.
