Probably one of the most powerful and meaningful books I've ever read. Lehane certainly gets inside the heads, as well as the souls, of his characters. I had previously finished all the Kenzie/Gennaro books and, while they were excellent, this is a masterpiece--a genuine Great American Novel. ...more
