I also read this book for my mystery club's "unusual murder weapon theme" and within the first few pages almost quit reading. It was pretty bizarre. But, I hung with it and the bizarreness grew on me because it was just wacky enough to be funny. I'd have to agree with one critic who said that Tim Dorsey 'out-Hiassan's Hiassan!' ...more

Lightweight summer reading -- novels in the epic, plotty, caper-centric vein of Carl Hiassen, with a recurring character or two thrown in. Not great literature, but really excellent page-turners that don't require a lot of brain power. ...more
