Cynical, jaded people with small grinch hearts usually don't read Nicholas Sparks books because ... we'll because they are romance novels.
This book isn't a romance novel - it's a memoir about Nicholas Sparks and his life. I've read so many memoirs lately that are about horrible, tragic childhoods, that frankly, I needed a little break from those sort of books. Loved this book. Very sad and uplifting at the same time. This book takes you inside the life of the Author of 'The Notebook' and really makes it personal.

This was a wonderful memoir. Not only do you get a bit of geography/history of the places Nicholas and Micah go to, you get their life story too.
