This book touched me deeply and actually moved me to tears. I listened to the audio version, and was impressed by the readers ability to effectively imitate that old southern drawl; altered ever so subtlety depending on the character. It really heightened my ability to visualize the characters, place and time. I happened to watch the movie made based upon this book...It was awesome!! The book is a great read as well...I cried, laughed and cried some more...If you like a good story, this book is for you!!!

beautiful, deeply moving. the ways that we treat each other can be maddening, frustrating and unbelievably cruel. but they can also be loving, respectful and kind. This book shows all of our shortcomings but makes me believe that the love, kindness and respect will win out in the end.
