What Members Thought
I have to start by saying that historical fiction and the machinations of the English court have never been my thing. When I first started this book I revelled in the language and the writing, but as it progressed I’m afraid I lost focus in the story. After all, we know how it turns out, and many of these characters are not particularly likeable. The last third caught my interest again. Without the language and writing I would have made this a 3, but it squeaks in as a 4 for me.
