Gilead was an amazing book, and Home is almost as good. Home is the story of Gilead, but told from a different point of view. Glory, Reverend Boughton's youngest daughter is the main character, and we see Jack's story unfold through her eyes.
10/5/2020: I am reading Home again, because Jack, the fourth book set in Gilead, was just published.
Reading this again reminded me of what a wonderful writer Ms. Robinson is.

A novel that fits my taste almost entirely: realism, never-ending subject of human relationships, family, destiny and conformism being part of the topics discussed. I really liked it and enjoyed reading it a lot.
The only drawback I noticed are the dialogues which are not at the same level of mastery, sometimes creating impression that each dialogue line is from a single character.
