This page-turner by Dana Stabenow follows an Alaskan state trooper as he is reassigned to a new posting - and sees a murder committed the very second he steps off the plane. He is immediately assaulted by deep feelings and a sort of horror when he realizes that the woman whose plane is used as the murder weapon is an old lover of his. Enjoyed this book, but wasn't blown away by it. (Though many in the book DO get blown away... in a sense. Not a spoiler, after all it is a murder mystery.) Enjoyed the details about the Alaskan setting. A quick read, not as interesting depth to the characters as I'd hoped there might be. I read others in this series some time ago, too long ago to compare. ...more
