I know I am probably the last person in the world to read this book and there are already hundreds of reviews out there for it. It really doesn’t need any further reviewing but I just could not resist telling you all how much I enjoyed this book.

Much different than the movie (which I love and adore). Call me a conservative romantic, if you wish, but I loved that Ruth loved Buddy, better than I love the lesbian sweethearts: Ruth and Idgie. loved the style of the chapters and that we get to see a better look of the south, than the limited view of movie. If you LOVE the movie, don't read the book. If you LOVE the book, stay away from the movie. But if you have to, love them both, or hate them both. Either way, I like the book, and love the

Evelyn Couch is an unhappy housewife living in Alabama. While visiting the nursing home her mother-in-law has been put in Evelyn befriends Ninny Threadgoode. Ninny tells Evelyn all about her home town of Whistle Stop and the cafe there run by Idgie and Ruth. I loved the characters especially Ninny. The book does skip around a lot in time and between characters which I found to be confusing in places.
