I was aware that this was a book written for an adult audience and so was not expecting the magic and sparkle of Harry Potter. The tone was much heavier but certainly realistic. Just as in the Potter novels, the character development and setting was excellent. An enjoyable read even if it was quite a bombardment of my emotions. Looking forward to more 'adult' novels. ...more

I really enjoyed this book. It is full of rich characters and I love hearing what they are thinking throughout the story.
