This book was banned from Rockford, Il. schools because it is about gang life.

A true story of a Chicano man who grew up in L.A. during the beginning of the barrio gang wars. This is an inspiring story about how this young man beat the odds and changed his life. It is not easy to escape a gang alive and he has many emotional and physical scars to prove it. Young teens would love this book, especially inner city youth who grow up around the gang population.
