It took me years to warm up to the idea of reading this book, however it took only two days to read it - a record for me, as I tend to be a slow reader. This is a book I could not put down.
Alice Sebold was raped on the last day of her freshman year at Syracuse University. This book starts with her stark and shocking account of each moment of that rape. It went on to explain in detail everything that happened to her after that as a result of the rape.

I wasn't taken with The Lovely Bones, but this memoir had a smooth feel of honesty that appealed to me. Very difficult book to read, but worthwhile.
