What I like about Randy Wayne White books is that I learn something every time I read one--something about nature, something about a place. In NORTH OF HAVANA I learned a LOT about Cuba and its history with the United States that I did not know.

Another exciting read featuring Doc Ford, this story sees him going to forbidden Cuba to rescue his friend Tomlinson. That is not an easy thing to do, and Doc finds himself and the woman who insisted on going with him in deep trouble, to the point that their lives are in danger. Doc must find a way to save them all, and although it seems impossible, at the last second, Doc finds a way.
