Although this book is not in my favorite genres, being a sort of combination horror/magic realism, I felt that it was well-written and will definitely be a hit with the Stephen King/Dean Koontz crowd.
Enjoyable retelling of The Island of Dr. Moreau.
This book was very good! It's a gothic setting and based on the tale of Dr. Moreau and his crazy island of experiments. His daughter travels from England to be with him after she deserted him and what awaits her is pretty intriguing to say the least. Excellent (and different). I think there will be 3 books in this series and I think it really is a well written book and not a typical YA at all. If you like stuff like Jane Eyre, Wuthering Heights, etc. You will like this. More classically written

This didn't make me want to read the Island of Dr. Moreau but it was deeply fucked up and gorgeous.
