I really didn't know if I would like this book. Having said that, about 20 or so pages in, I was drawn into it. I finished it in less than a day. Lots of twists and turns and when you think you have it figured out, all of it changes. I really enjoyed it.

This was titled incorrectly. It should have been called ShuDDer Island. What kind of circular nonsense is this book? Books usually have a beginning. a middle and an end. This one had a beginning, and it had a middle. But then instead of an ending nicely wrapped up with a bow, it seems to circle right around to the beginning again. Or did it? Maybe it did and maybe it didn't ... but I don't really care. I lose respect for an author who plays such mind games with his audience.

I liked this book for its edge of the seat race against insanity. It was well written and well paced. The characters were gritty and real. I couldn't put it down. Although I had seen the movie and already knew the plot I still couldn't stop myself from flipping the page until I finished the book.

I was spoiled having seen the film, which follows the book to the letter.
A decent thriller, but terribly inaccurate from a psychological sciences standpoint
