I read this because I needed a quick break from "this changes everything" and nothing like a Jodi Picoult to get your mind off of the climate change crisis. I really loved this book, it was probably my favorite of hers - until the end, which really disappointed me.

Picoult has made something of a cottage industry out of novels about domestic crisis, but she's certainly skilled at facing ethical dilemmas dead-on. The comic book illustrations are a wonderful touch and the detail about Alaska is fascinating.

I never did finish this book. I haven't been able to get into it or finish it. I think I'm just not a Jodi Picoult girl. Everything she writes about is 'family in turmoil' and it just gets. so. old.

This is the 3rd novel I've read by this author. She never disappoints and her ability to tell a story is first rate.
