I love the way this book gives the stories of the many characters, both in the past and also tidbits into their futures. It was a very engaging way to read about this unfortunate stage in US history.
I gave this book a 4-1/2 rating. Excellent read that exposes some horrible historical situations with slavery in the US back before the Civil War.
