I am afraid I still don't quite see the point of Heyer. Many very clever people like reading her... and I don't understand why :( This is my second Heyer (the first being Cotillion, which was OK), and I absolutely hate it, from the abusive 'wild' young nobleman, Vidal, to the colourless, 'placid-yet-can-t-help-but-fall-in-love-with-bad-boy' Ms Challoner. Shelves: frivolous, romance
A wonderfully written Georgette Heyer—so fun to see the reprise of favorite characters from These Old Shades. Mary Challoner is one of my favorite heroines. While Lord Vidal isn't one of my favorite heroes, he is still a great character—a dashing blend of Leone and Avon.

Whenever I read other historical romances I am reminded that Heyer truly is the best!
