A collection of stories about Germany between 1900-1999, a whole century full of German tales. Interesting in some parts, meh in the others. I especially like it when Gunter Grass told stories about everyday lives, people struggling with their life, small tidbits about love and relationships. But I didn't dig the political stories, too heavy for me especially since there were lots of very specific history about Germany that I didn't aware of so it's hard to follow the plot at all. ...more
