What a sad life for so many women and girls in this area of Pakistan! Written by a British researcher who actually went to live among them, this book was eye-opening for me: I knew that many girls and women, along with with some boys and men too, have to become prostitutes in order to survive, but I had no idea that the whole 'business', as it is called in the book, was so rigid, institutionalized, and so permanent for all generations. It is just sad that so many people in the world have no hope
