Fat Charlie Nancy has always been ashamed of his dad. When his dad dies Charlie discovers his dad was the god Anansi and that he has a brother, Spider, he doesn't remember. Charlie invites Spider for a visit and Spider causes trouble with Charlie's job and his fiancé Rosie. The book starts a bit slow and Charlie is rather annoying at the beginning of the book. Charlie grows and improves his character and the story definitely got more interesting as it went along.

I love the subtlety of Gaiman's humor and the way he slides a gentle joke into his prose when you're least expecting it. He always knows how to catch you off-guard, which keeps his writing fresh and entertaining.
