This book yelled at me the whole time. So loud and so annoying. I made it to 3/4 and had to stop for my own sanity.
The senior Spellmans (mom and dad) have a private detective agency and Isabel Spellman is the daughter, a "private investigator" and lead annoyance. There are other Spellmans (unfortunately) with their own ridiculous personalities. Lots of sighing and throwing up of hands by the parents which was predictable. Hopeless and helpless. This came with high marks so I went ahead and read it. The family is described very well with a lot of quirks. The plot just lost me if every there was one. There were parts that we meant to be funny but, it didn't strike me as funny. It's rather a mindless read about a family that has deep issues that are glazed over. Also, no plot.

Technically, this was a reread of the series. However, I don't have any record of when I originally read it and don't have any memory of why on earth I didn't continue the series the first time around. Rest assured, I'm correcting my error. This book is hilarious and serious all at once, just as I like my humour books to be.
