Every once in awhile, when I was reading this, I would see glimpses of depth in the character that showed they were more than just cookie-cutter personalities. It kept me reading. But there just wasn't enough of it, unfortunately, and coupled with some things I really didn't care about (I think other reviewers have mentioned the baffling description of how to use google that took up a page and a half, and the conclusion that craziness must run in the family because someone was in a nursing home

A delightful debut in a new cozy mystery series. I loved the friendship between Mel, Angie, and Tate and also loved all the cupcake / baking descriptions. I also enjoyed the classic movie bantering. The mystery was solid even though I guessed the killer about a third of the way through. I very much look forward to reading the next in this series when it is released.
