I really didn't like this book at first, but once it got going, I was sucked right in. Yes, the terminology is stupid ("angel blood"??? twee! I happen to be in the middle of re-reading Roger Zelazny's first book in the Amber series, Nine Princes in Amber, and THERE is the perfect example of otherworldly beings described using words that do not cause me to titter, or retch, or both.
