This is the sequel to The Woman Who Walked into Doors. Paula Spencer is back... a little older, but she hasn't had a drink in four months and five days. Roddy Doyle is an amazing writer. He captures reality - naked reality both the good and the bad - better than most writers.

I like the style, and I liked Paula's attempts to figure out what sort of woman she had become, but I wish the actual story had a bit more structure. An interesting character piece, but not my favorite Doyle novel.
