Given the praise surrounding this collection, I was mildly disappointed. For one thing, it's really short. About 50 pages, with lots of white space and prose mixed in. It's basically a plumped up chapbook. Kaminsky has a very delicate and often beautiful touch, with suffering, joy, and memory being the subjects of just about every poem.
