Didn't really intrigue me that much. Sam puts the moves on Lucy pretty quickly and her blanket statement that because he's nice and charming at the beginning means he'll end being an a**hole later is stupid. Also, it would be nice if Kleypas for once wrote a hero who wasn't drop-dead gorgeous; provide a change of pace. It's Kleypas though, so when publication time comes, I'll probably succumb.

In my first month of blogging back in 2011 I read and reviewed the first book Christmas Eve At Friday Harbor and I was not much of a fan of the book. I thought that it was very two dimensional in terms of characters and the plot was extremely weak which is why it took me almost 3 years to give the second book in this series a try, and the only reason I did try it was because I wanted in on the buddy read my main GR book group was doing for it.

I received this book as a winner of the First Reads contest and am so glad that I did!
Rainshadow Road is a light romance novel and I really enjoyed it. The story line is interesting and the writing style was engaging. While the characters seemed a bit predictable, they were still likeable (or disagreeable as the case may be) and were well thought out by the author.
