Hmm... so the first half of the book was terrible. Bella's desire to protect her baby at all costs despite the very real evidence that it might be killing her felt like a bad pro-life afterschool special. No, really.
The novel did wake back up in Part III as the imminent conflict with the Volturi commences. But the non climax at the end was really bad, IMHO.

Although this was a really long audiobook, it was worth the listen. My Dh had read the actual book and so I could refer to the Vampire Index at the back which was really necessary at the climax of the book.
It really felt like an end to the series and I hope that Stephanie Meyer doesn't waste a good think by dragging it out for too many more books. ...more
