What Members Thought

I see that this book was much hyped in the US and left many people disappointed. I admit that I had never heard about it, liked the pretty cover art alot and bought it spontaneously as I needed a few books for my summer vacation. I don't know what I -did- expect, but certainly not what I got and I found the book very clever and amusing to read. Only the plot left me rather unconvinced as the first half fo the book doesn't seem well connected to the second half when the teacher Hannah disappears.

Entertaining book - I actually liked it more than I thought I would, especially the twists and turns. But I still can't say that I am a fan of young contemporary American authors.

Another book in severe need of a good editor. I enjoyed it, but the ending felt rushed and, given the time she devoted to a ton of others things in the first several hundred pages, the ending consequently also felt cheap and false. I liked Blue, and I really felt for her, but the ending sort of ruined things for me.

Brilliant ending, a bit exhausting in the middle, very very lovable heroine. A great mystery on a coming of age novel. Love it!

This is one of the best books I've read in the last few years. Highly recommended!
